BGI Contractors Begins Construction
on Explosion Resistant Buildings

Following an extensive design and engineering phase, BGI is now fabricating an Explosion Resistant Building called the StrongBox. These extra strong modular units are designed for use at ExxonMobil and other refineries to comply with new blast zone regulations and can be easily adapted for use in offshore operations.

The versatile units are available with a rating of 8 psi to 12 psi and are designed with reference to the "Design of Blast Resistant Buildings in Petrochemical Facilities," 1997, published by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

"Since these units are fabricated here at our shop, they can be transported and set up on-site with minimal installation time," says A.B. Bernard, General Manager, "Control rooms and operational terminals can be designed to meet specific needs."
